Client: Concordia University
Role: Logo Design, Branding, Graphic Design
Brief: Create a logo and mascot that appeals to college students to be used at University events. Update t-shirt design for satellite campus.
Logo Design
My client wanted a logo that was less corporate than the existing university branding, and that included a map, globe, plane or other travel motif.
I created the following mock-ups incorporating wings and feathers from the school’s mascot, the Falcon, as well as imagery of school and travel.

My client chose option D. and we moved forward with options to ensure all type was legible even at small sizes.

On my suggestion, the client chose to go with the all black text option when at small sizes and the yellow text option when larger than 2 inches.

The final logo package included large and small logos for the Study Abroad office (outgoing) and International Center (incoming) at both Concordia University Mequon (blue and yellow) and Ann Arbor (red and black).
Mascot Redesign
Freddie Falcon and Corky Cardinal, the CU mascots are often redesigned to fit different university departments and offices. I created a Travel Corky and Travel Freddie for the study abroad department. These mascots will be printed on large cardboard cutouts for study abroad fairs.

T-Shirt Redesign
CU Wisconsin had a t-shirt design from several years ago that they wanted updated for CU Ann Arbor, so I created a CUAA version in the same style.
