Brief: Choose a local restaurant in need of a logo update and create a new logotype by manipulating type and using minimal iconography

For this project I chose Georgette’s Grounds and Gifts, local to Maumee, OH. Georgette’s is under the direction of Sunshine Home, and employs individuals with mental and physical disabilities.

New Logo Design

For the new design, I paid homage to the original logo’s yellow, reminiscent of sunshine, and paired it with an accent color of teal. The new logotype is based on the font Baskerville, but borrows and shares rounded terminals, and centers around the inclusive ampersand to give the design a maternal and matriarchal feel.
